Getting Started
Do I need to be licensed to join müve?
Yes, you must be licensed (or actively pursuing your license) in Alberta. If you're in the process of getting licensed, we can discuss timing and onboarding for when you complete your education.
What if I'm brand new with zero experience?
We welcome new agents who are serious about building full-time careers. Our launch program combines training, script practice, squad mentorship, coaching, and real appointment opportunities so you can learn by doing with support.
How soon can I get appointments?
Many agents see appointments in their first 2-3 weeks after onboarding, depending on activity and availability. We prioritize getting you in front of clients quickly while you're building skills.
Switching Brokerages
How does the transition process work?
After your discovery call and application, we'll walk you through the paperwork, timing, and logistics. Most agents transition within 2-4 weeks. We coordinate with your current brokerage to ensure a smooth handoff of any active deals.
What happens to my current clients and deals?
Active contracts stay with your current brokerage until they close. Your sphere of influence and future business come with you to müve—those are YOUR relationships and we support you in maintaining them.
Will I lose income during the transition?
We work to minimize any gap and discuss active files, timing, and onboarding before you move. Many agents continue to close existing deals with their previous brokerage while preparing for the transition, then plug into müve systems once they officially join.
Compensation
How are team-provided vs self-generated leads split?
Team-provided opportunities and self-generated business are handled differently. The exact split depends on the source of the business and current team structure, so Kylie will walk you through the current schedule during your discovery call.
What are the fees?
Agents should expect brokerage fees, transaction review or risk management fees, board or association costs, taxes, and normal business expenses. müve also provides team support such as transaction coordination, listing coordination, photography, marketing assets, training, and administrative support. We review the current fee schedule directly with candidates because brokerage fees can change.
Is there a cap?
eXp Canada operates with a brokerage cap model, and some team-specific treatment may apply depending on the current eXp and müve structure. Because cap and post-cap details can change, we review the current schedule with you rather than relying on stale numbers.
Leads & Appointments
How many leads will I get per month?
Lead and appointment flow depends on agent availability, responsiveness, market conditions, team capacity, and conversion performance. The goal is to give serious agents real opportunity while matching leads to agents who can serve them well.
What if a lead doesn't convert?
Not every lead converts immediately—that's real estate. We focus on quality over quantity and provide coaching on follow-up and nurturing. Our ISA team pre-qualifies, but ultimately conversion depends on your skill and timing.
What is the hômm cash offer funnel?
hômm gives certain sellers another path to consider: comparing a traditional full-service listing with a guaranteed cash offer option. For agents, it creates a differentiated seller conversation and another funnel beyond standard buyer and seller lead sources. Specific offer terms depend on the property, market conditions, and current hômm process.
Can I still work my own database and sphere?
Absolutely! Your personal sphere is yours. We encourage you to build and maintain those relationships. Self-generated business earns you a higher split while you still benefit from all team systems and support.
Training & Support
What does training look like after the first 90 days?
Weekly team training sessions, ongoing one-on-one coaching with Kylie, monthly advanced workshops, and access to our on-demand training library. Training never stops—we believe continuous improvement drives long-term success.
Who is my direct supervisor or coach?
Kylie Hughson, our Sales Manager, provides one-on-one coaching. Agents also have access to squad leaders, team leadership, and peer accountability through the squad model. John Rota and Nik Jankovic are also available for mentorship and strategic guidance.
How do squads and squad leaders work?
Squads give agents a smaller group for accountability, questions, and practical support. Newer agents benefit from a squad leader who can help them stay on track, while experienced agents may have opportunities to grow into squad leadership based on fit, performance, and the current team structure.
Can squad leadership create additional income?
Potentially, depending on the current team structure and the role an experienced agent plays in mentoring and supporting others. We avoid presenting this as guaranteed or automatic income. Kylie can explain how squad leadership, expectations, and any related compensation work today.
What CRM and tools do you use?
müve provides CRM and follow-up systems, branded templates, listing and marketing support, transaction coordination, and an evolving tech stack. Training is included during onboarding so you understand how to use the systems in daily client follow-up.
Expectations
What are your minimum activity requirements?
We expect full-time commitment, responsiveness to leads within 1 hour, attendance at weekly training, and professional conduct. If you treat this like a part-time hobby, we're not the right fit. We support serious agents building serious careers.
Can I work part-time?
Our systems are designed for full-time agents. Part-time agents struggle to convert leads and keep up with training. If you're committed to real estate as your primary career, we'll invest heavily in your success.
What if I want to leave the team later?
We hope you stay and grow with us, but if you ever consider leaving, we will review the applicable agreement terms, notice requirements, active files, and brokerage process with you clearly. We believe expectations should be understood before anyone joins.
Brokerage & Compliance
What brokerage is müve affiliated with?
müve Team is part of the eXp Canada brokerage. You'll be licensed under eXp Canada and benefit from their national support, technology, and resources—while operating day-to-day within the müve Team systems.
Does eXp revenue share apply?
eXp has a revenue share model tied to sponsoring productive agents into the brokerage. This is sometimes discussed as a downline or sponsored organization, but it is performance-based and not guaranteed. For experienced agents who want leadership leverage, Kylie can explain how eXp revenue share fits alongside müve squad leadership and production.
How does RECA compliance and supervision work?
Agents operate under eXp Canada's brokerage framework and must follow Alberta real estate rules. müve supports paperwork and transaction coordination, while eXp Canada provides brokerage compliance, broker support, transaction review, and risk management processes.
Do I need E&O insurance?
Yes. Alberta real estate agents need appropriate insurance and brokerage coverage. Current cost and coverage details should be confirmed through the current eXp Canada fee and onboarding schedule.
